Description

On International Women's Day, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura presents a talk by Professor Angelica Pesarini, cross-appointed at the Centre for Diaspora & Transnational Studies and Italian Studies at the University of Toronto. Dr. Pesarini will illustrate stories of marginalization and resistance of Italian women of African descent born during the fascist colonial time in East Africa. The talk will show the complexities of the Black presence in Italian history and the difficulty to acknowledge issues of race, identity and citizenship.
