Art of the African Diaspora, Art and Visual Culture of Civil Rights and Black Power
Maya Harakawa is an art historian of the African Diaspora in the United States. Her research focuses on questions of racial politics and practices of placemaking in the postwar period. Currently, she is working on her first book: a study of Harlem in the 1960s.
